[Hope had gotten up early this morning. After speaking to Lightning on the phone everyday since he arrived? The anticipation of seeing her again was making him fidget. His Absol was standing down by his feet. Watching him pace.

Hope is basically waiting for his welcome wagon to arrive. Feel free to stop by and poke him, call him on the cell or whatever you please really.]

[He knows about Hope's mom, but only that she's gone and it can be quite the sensitive issue. This might be the first time he's gotten to hear something like that about her]

[He laughs.]

I guess I get little... bursts of talent.

[He gestures to the buttprint in the dirt.]

Some guys wouldn't know what to do with all that talent.

Not me. I'm a master of... tumbling.

[He grins.]

Sometimes it's pretty handy for dodging, actually.

[Sorry Ventus. Lightning spend a good portion of their time as a L'Cie attempting to teach Hope how to dodge. Unfortunately that's not how it turned out.]

For it to be a talent you have to be completely graceless.

[He shook his head.]

I wish I was better at that stuff. It would have made life easier.

Everybody's got a different way of handling attacks. If what works for other people doesn't for you, maybe you just haven't found it yet.

Actually, if you want to try sometime, I could help. I got a pretty bad knock to my head a while back and forgot some things like that, so I've been training.

My strategy tended to be hide behind Snow or Fang and blast them with all I have before they hit me.

[He gave a nervous chuckle.]

Oh. That's a good idea. Lightning said I should learn.

I remember you saying you were really handy with magic, but I didn't know that part.

[Hiding behind big people, that is an interesting strategy...at least he thinks so]

We'll do some training together soon then, it'll be fun.

Yeah. It was kind of high tech because I could control it in flight.

[He smiles.]

So that's how it works... I've always wondered about that.

It would be kind of difficult to use if it didn't work like that.

[He chuckled.]

I'd be unarmed after I threw it once.

But I thought those kinds of things came back on their own?

They do if you throw them right. But in a fight getting the throw that precise would be difficult.

Guess it's different from a keyblade then. All I've gotta do is toss it, it'll always come back to me. But then, I'm the only one that can call mine, same with Aqua and hers.

Keyblade?

[That sounds interesting. A... key that is a blade. ... Wouldn't that be tiny?]

Is it like a stiletto knife? Something for when you're up close?

[He shakes his head]

Not exactly, it's bigger than that. It's um... I'll go get it, I left it in the inn.
